CLOUD & SQL Server - System Requirements

HandicapMaster Client Application

HandicapMaster SQL server and Cloud edition CLIENT software has been tested on the following operating systems, which we recommend for its use.
  • Windows 11
  • Windows 10 (32-bit and 64 bit versions)
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 (64 bit only there is no 32 bit version).
    From 10th October 2023 Microsoft no longer support Windows Windows Server 2012 R2 We STRONGLY recommend that you upgrade or replace computers running Windows Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • Windows 8.1 (32-bit and 64 bit versions) (*1) - Windows 8 RT is not supported
    From 10th January 2023 Microsoft no longer support Windows 8.1.

  • Windows 8 (32-bit and 64 bit versions) (*1) (*2) - Windows 8 RT is not supported We STRONGLY recommend that you upgrade or replace computers running Windows 8
  • Windows 7 SP 1(32-bit and 64 bit versions) (*1) (*2) We STRONGLY recommend that you consider upgrade or replacement of computers running Windows 7 SP1.
(*1) These versions of windows are no longer supported by Microsoft. We STRONGLY recommend that you consider upgrade or replacement of computers these versions of Windows.
(*2) These versions of windows are not considered suitable for Cloud editions. While they may operate with Cloud editions they may stop working at any time as more modern security standards are applied.
HandicapMaster version 13 requires the the Microsoft .NET Framework version 4.8 (or higher) be installed on your computer. When you install HandicapMaster version 13 if your computer is connected to the internet and the .NET framework 4.8 is not installed then it will be downloaded automatically. However if you computer is not connected to the internet then the above link may be used to download a copy that may then be copied to removable media and take to the offline computer.

Note that the .NET Framework version 4.8 has a number of software and hardware pre-requisites.
We also recommend that your version of windows is regularly updated with the most recent security updates from Microsoft.

User PC Hardware Requirements

These requirements are the minimum needed to support the HandicapMaster Software. This does not include any operating system minimum requirements.
  • HandicapMaster be run on a modern personal computer running one of the supported versions of Windows listed above.
  • Memory: Minimum: 128 MB or higher. This does not include any operating system minimum requirements.
  • Disk Space: Minimum of 50 MB available.

HandicapMaster SQL Server DATABASE (SERVER) PC Software Requirements

The HandicapMaster NETWORK edition database is a SQL Server 2014 SP3 Express database.
64 bit version only 32 bit version is no longer available.
SQL Server 2014 SP3 Express is supported on the following 64 bit operating systems
  • Windows 11 *
  • Windows 10
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2012 R2.

  • Windows 8.1 - Windows 8 RT is not supported

* SQL Server 2014 SP3 can be installed but is technically not supported. Please Contact HandicapMaster Ltd for advice.

Other software requirements

  • SQL Server Setup requires Microsoft Windows Installer 4.5 or a later version (*)
  • .NET Framework 4.8
  • Windows PowerShell 1.0

Database PC Hardware Requirements

These requirements are the minimum needed to support the SQL Server Express Database. This does not include any operating system minimum requirements.
  • Processor x64 (64-bit): AMD , Intel with Intel EM64T support.
  • Processor speed Minimum: 1 GHz. Recommended speed 2 Ghz
  • Memory: Minimum: 512 MB, Recommended: 4GB or more.
  • Disk Space: Requires minimum of 8 GB of available disk space.
