How To Upgrade HandicapMaster from Version 7 to version 8?

Thank you for your interest in updating HandicapMaster to version 8.

Please follow these steps to upgrade your copy of HandicapMaster:

1. Take a backup of your current HandicapMaster data

  1. Start HandicapMaster and select File menu, then Backup Database.

  2. Click Change Folder button and select a folder on your computer. Click OK.

  3. Click Yes.

This will create a file called "HandicapMaster.bak" in the chosen folder.

2. Install HandicapMaster version 8

To download and install the HandicapMaster version 8 software:

  1. Click this link and download the installation file by clicking the button on screen.

  2. Select to Run the file when downloaded (or Save the download and then double-click the saved file to run after it has downloaded).

  3. Follow the instructions given by the installer. In most cases, selecting the default values will do nicely.

    You will now have HandicapMaster version 8 installed on your computer. A new set of icons (similar to version 7) will be added to your desktop.

  4. You may now run the HandicapMaster 8 software.

    When you run HandicapMaster 8 for the first time after the installation, it will detect the existing HandicapMaster 7 installation and will offer to copy the data and settings to HandicapMaster 8 (avoiding any need for reconfiguration).

3. Remove HandicapMaster version 7

When you are satisfied that HandicapMaster 8 is working well, you may remove HandicapMaster version 7.

  1. From the Windows Start button, select Control Panel.

  2. Click "Add or Remove Programs" (Windows XP) or "Programs and Features" (Windows 7/8).

  3. Select "HandicapMaster® Version 7" and click Remove.
