Multiple HandicapMaster databases on the same PC

It is possible to run HandicapMaster, but operating with multiple databases.

Users of Handicapmaster Version 6 please see below.

Version 7 additional database configuration

Introduced in version 7 is a facility to allow users to manage additional HandicapMaster Databases.

If you configure additional databases then when you start HandicapMaster a list of the available databases will be displayed. You may then choose the appropriate database either by clicking on one to highlight it and then click OK or by double clicking on one of the databases listed. Handicapmaster will then continue using the selected database.

When you install HandicapMaster you are supplied with a single database. If you would like to operate HandicapMaster with different Database files, proceed as follows:

  1. Start HandicapMaster and select FILE menu, then OPTIONS.

  2. Select the DATABASE tab, then click the CONFIGURE button.

    The "HandicapMaster Configuration" window will display a list of configured databases. You may now add a NEW database, change the SETTINGS of an existing database, or REMOVE a database.

  3. To create a new HandicapMaster Database, select NEW. This will start the Database Wizard.

The steps then are:

  1. Choose your HandicapMaster Edition
    • Society, Club or Premier Edition
    • Network Edition
  2. Select the type of database
    • New
    • Copy Existing Database
    • None (Locate existing Database)

If you select NEW then a blank database will be created. If you wish to copy an existing database, select COPY and a new database with a copy of all the data in the selected database will be created.

Once you have made this choice the Database Wizard will guide you through the remaining steps.

Version 6 (or lower) 2nd database utility

With Version 6 it is possible to run one HandicapMaster, but operating two separate databases, on the same PC. To set your PC up to do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Download the Second Database installation file.
  2. Run the Installation file on the PC.

This Installer duplicates the HandicapMaster database file on the PC. It creates a second desktop Icon (titled '2nd DB HandicapMaster') to run HandicapMaster using the second Database.
