This facility is available if HandicapMaster is running on Windows 2000 or later. It is not available on Windows 98 or ME. Users will need a valid SMTP e-mail service and internet connection to be able to send E-mails from HandicapMaster.
If you use this facility with the Send Away Scores to Home Clubs report, HandicapMaster will send separate e-mails to each golf club listed in the report (where an e-mail address has been entered into the Golf Courses Contact Details).
If you use this facility with the Membership Subscriptions Option 'Raise Subscription Wizard' and 'Overdue Subscriptions Wizard', HandicapMaster will send separate e-mails to those members who are configured to receive invoices by e-mail. An E-mail log report shows the status of e-mails that were created.

Booking into Future Competitions - Online and/or at the Club

You may now collect bookings into future competitions either:
  • Online - through the MasterScoreboard web site
  • and/or through Player Entry Screens.
When collecting bookings through Player Entry screens and online through Master Scoreboard web site, you may choose to set a delay before bookings may be placed online (I.e. prioritise bookings through player Entry at the Golf Club).
Players may now book their own partners into teams competitions.
A new report is added allowing you to view the history of bookings being made into a competition. This report details who booked in (or cancelled), when and by whom.
The 'Allow Players to Cancel Bookings into Future Competitions' option is moved to the FILE -> OPTIONS window (from the CONFIGURE PLAYER ENTRY wizard).
It is now possible to choose only one player per tee time when running Bookings wizard for singles competitions.
Booking into future competitions is available in Premier, EGA-Premier and Network editions.

Eclectic Competitions

Management of Eclectic competitions has been moved to the “Competitions” place, alongside stroke-play and match-play knock-out competitions.
A number of new facilities are added to Eclectics. You may now
  • Run Eclectics on the basis of most Stableford Points scored per hole (or fewest strokes per hole, as previously),
  • Add 'Casual cards' (scorecards outside of normal competitions) to Eclectic results,
  • Choose a selection of players prior to the competitions being added to the eclectic, so that only these player’s scores from the added competitions are included in the eclectic (that is, the selection of players need no longer be selected for each competition added to the eclectic),
  • Calculate the handicap allowance for the Eclectic competition to one decimal place,
  • Place competitors in the Eclectic into Divisions, based on their current Handicap, and
  • Publish the results of the Eclectics to the Master Scoreboard web site.
There is no longer a limit to the number of Eclectics that may be run at the same time.

Golf AutoScore™ Integration

HandicapMaster is the first officially approved company to supply CONGU handicapping software to operate with Golf AutoScore™ in the UK and Ireland.
You may now use the Golf AutoScore™ scorecard system which simplifies score card recording with HandicapMaster, using a 'lotto' style scorecard.
Golf AutoScore™ is available in Premier, EGA-Premier and Network editions.

Master Scoreboard

The option 'Publish to MasterScoreboard.co.uk' has been changed to 'Publish to Internet' on the FILE menu.
A new button on the main toolbar (called 'Publish') has been added to provide a quick access to the 'Publish to Internet' wizard.
Main Toolbar
You may now publish additional data to the MasterScoreboard web site:
  • Hole-by-hole scores for players in singles competitions.
These may be accessed by your members from the 'Recent Handicap Record' page on the web site. If you do not wish player's to be able to see the scores of other players, you may turn on the 'Individual Passwords' facility in the Master Scoreboard Control Panel if you are using CONGU Handicapping editions of HandicapMaster.
  • Gross Score results for single round competitions (not Four Ball Better Ball competitions).
  • Eclectic competition scores.
  • Order of Merit results.

Competitions

Important: Where a competition is open to Men and Ladies and 'Adjust Competition Handicaps' box is ticked in the template, competition handicaps/strokes received are now adjusted for equitable handicapping in accordance with Appendix O of the CONGU system irrespective of whether or not both genders of players actually played. Previously if only one gender actually played, adjustments were not applied.
Ordering of players in team competitions is improved, with HandicapMaster retaining the order of players in a pairing as they were originally entered. A problem whereby editing a Foursomes or Greensomes scorecard after a competition has been closed and re-opened again could show player's respective handicaps the wrong way around is resolved.
For Stableford or Par competitions, you may now choose whether the competition results for 'Gross Scores Only' are calculated using the number of strokes taken or the number of Stableford points (or Par result) achieved using no handicap allowance. This calculation applies as competitions are applied (closed). See FILE menu, then OPTIONS, then COMPETITIONS tab.
When you run the 'Open a New Competition' wizard, you may now choose to save the selections you have made for the options as the defaults for when you next run the wizard (Premier and Network editions).
When you update a competition template through the main list of templates, you will now be asked whether you would like the changes to be applied to the competitions that you currently have open (that have used the updated template).
When a 'No Return' scorecard is entered, HandicapMaster will now automatically apply a disqualification under rule of golf 3-2, if the competition is a Stroke-play competition (does not apply to Stableford or Par competitions). Note: As a consequence, No Returns in medal competitions will now show as 'D/Q' on the competition leader board.
Results may be e-mailed to members using the e-mail facility.
If a competition is 'men-only' or 'ladies-only', the icon displayed in the Opened Competitions and Closed Competitions lists now includes a blue or red indicator accordingly.
A warning message is now displayed if a competition is already open for the same date, venue and using the same template.

Start Sheets

When you run the Start Sheet wizard, but Bookings are underway for the selected competition, the Start Sheet may no longer be created without first closing Bookings. You may now close the Bookings early using a button in the Start Sheets wizard. (Premier and Network editions).
When adding players to the Start Sheet grid for an open competition, the name of the home club of visitors is now displayed alongside their names in the pop-up list of players.
When updating the last cell in the grid, a new row is no longer automatically added to the grid without the Users permission.
When re-ordering players on the grid using the Randomise option (or importing bookings received in 'blocks'), players are now automatically moved to the left side of the grid. If any player is left on their own, they are automatically moved to another tee time (if available) ensuring each player has a minimum of one partner. Finally, games are re-ordered so that those games with the fewest players are given the first tee times (not applicable for 'Shotgun' Starting Sheets).
If you 'auto-fill' a start sheet using the players from another start sheet, you may now choose to keep the players in the same groups (I.e. same games) as the original start sheet.

Knock Out Competitions

You may now change the Last date of matches in a round in a Knock Out draw.
A new option 'Show Telephone Numbers on Draw Report' to display a member's telephone number on the Draw printout has been added (See REPORTS -> LAYOUT AND OPTIONS -> COMPETITION REPORTS).

It is now possible to record the length of holes along with Par and Stroke Index information, when entering course details. If recorded, the length of holes will be included in the 'Scorecards from a competition' report. To enable the entry of hole distances, Select FILE menu, then OPTIONS, then GENERAL tab. Tick the applicable box.

Ireland GOLFnet Central Database of Handicaps

The option 'Publish to GOLFnet (Ireland)' has been changed to 'Publish to Internet' on the FILE menu.
A new button on the main toolbar (called 'Publish') has been added to provide a quick access to the 'Publish to Internet' wizard.
Main Toolbar
When publishing to GOLFnet with one or more golf courses referenced in player's handicap records that are not recognised by GOLFnet (for example where you have added an additional golf course to the list), you may now choose which GOLFnet club this golf course relates to.
When you add, edit or 'import' a Member or Visitor record, HandicapMaster will now check if the GOLFnet number entered is already in use. If it is, you will be given the opportunity to transfer this number from the previous to the latest record.
Player's GOLFnet numbers are now displayed in the ALL MEMBERS (and associated) lists.

England Central Database of Handicaps

The option to publish to the English Golf Union's Central Database of Handicaps has been added to the 'Publish to Internet option, in readiness of the new service.
At the time that version 7.2 was released (January 2009) beta trials of the new service were just starting.

EGA Handicapping

You may now re-configure HandicapMaster to reduce handicaps in line with the modifications to the EGA Handicap System as laid down by the Spanish Golf Federation (See HANDICAPPING menu, then CONFIGURE HANDICAPPING RULES).
