HandicapMaster 8.2.16 (Update Package 616) (3 May 2012)

  • AMEND - Publish to England/Scotland/Wales CDH; The timeout waiting for a response from the CDH when uploading handicap records is increased to 90 seconds.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82123) - HandicapMaster becomes "stuck" displaying the progress bar window in "marquee" style when running HandicapMaster on computers with Windows XP operating system (only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82124) - Start Sheets; Unexpected error 5 ("Syntax error in CREATE TABLE statement" or "Incorrect syntax near '-'") occurred re-ordering players into handicap order on a Start Sheet, if the computer name for the computer being used contained a hyphen character.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82125) - Callback 7; Unexpected error 5 ("An expression of non-boolean type…") occurred closing a singles competition when using callback 7.

HandicapMaster 8.2.15 (Update Package 615) (2 May 2012)

  • NEW - Publish to GOLFnet CDH; When customers in Ireland publish to the GOLFnet CDH, HandicapMaster will now display any non-qualifying away scores received. These non-qualifying scores may now be applied to player’s handicap records (CONGU editions, Ireland only).
  • NEW - Start Sheets and Address Labels; Option to print to Avery Address Label type J8162/L7162 is added.
  • NEW - Callback 7; Option is added to report all extra competition fees, in addition to the normal entry fee, agreed by player when reporting competition fees using callback 7 service.
  • AMEND - CONGU Handicapping; When adding an out-of-sequence score into a handicap record that predates an 'Exceptional Scoring Reduction' (ESR) entry, the amount of adjustment made to the player's handicap as a result of the ESR is now retained (rather than the resultant handicap value being retained).
  • AMEND - Golf Courses (England List); "Atour", "Astbury Hall", "East Riding (Union)", "Halifax, Huddersfield & District (Union)", "Leeds & District (Union)", "Lodge", "Luton Hoo", "MidAm Golf", "North East Rabbits (Assn)", "Sheffield (Union)", "Teesside & District (Union)" and "Ladies Medical Golfing Society" added to list. Names updated for "Bowring St Michaels Ladies", "Burlish Park", "Cocken Lodge", "Playgolf Colchester", "The County" and "Radlett Park" in list. Name and CDH Number updated for "Cadmore Lodge".   • AMEND - Golf Courses (Scotland List); 16 Area Authorities, 14 Counties and 7 Tournament authorities added to Scotland List. Also "Ayr Dalmilling Ladies" added, "Cruden Bay Ladies" deleted.
  • AMEND - Import Bookings from BRS to Start Sheet; Additional checks to verify players being imported are eligible to play in the competition are added.
  • AMEND - Improved error reporting when backing up and restoring databases.
  • AMEND - Publish to UK CDH; Additional diagnostics added to connection log when publishing to England, Scotland or Wales CDH reporting quantity of data sent and time for CDH to process the data and reply.
  • AMEND - References to "English Golf Union" and "English Women's Golf Association" are replaced with "England Golf" in line with new branding on EGU web site (Note: At the time of writing, the CDH service is still referred to as "EGU CDH" and the Ladies Medal competitions as "EWGA Medals").
  • AMEND - Typographical correction to text for notification of Exceptional Scoring Reduction on competition results report.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82107) - Unexpected error 5 ("Could not find the drive 'X:\'. The drive might not be ready or might not be mapped") may have rarely occur when backing up the HandicapMaster database.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82108) - Match Play Knock Out Draws; Option to print to A3 size paper did not correctly operate and defaulted to A4 size.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82109) - Apply Scores; Unexpected error 5 ("Conversion from string "x" to type 'Integer' is not valid") could occur when attempting to remove a disqualified player and there were no players listed.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82110) - Integration with External Membership System; When using LoadCSV interface, names with binary 0 value characters included could be imported causing difficulties, especially publishing to CDH services (Premier and Network editions).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82111) - Competition Bookings; Unexpected error 9 (“Value cannot be null. Argument 'Array' is Nothing”) occurred when amending the bookings arrangements for a competition set up for bookings, when a change in service used to receive bookings had occurred since the bookings for the competition were originally set up.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82112) - Subscription option; Unexpected error -2147221501 "Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record." may have occurred under rare circumstances when running the "Overdue Subscriptions Summary" report.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82113) - Publish to Scottish/Welsh CDH; Error 23 – 'invalid or missing handicap record revised exact handicap' could be returned from the CDH when publishing handicap records in some rare situations (CONGU Editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82114) - Unexpected error 5 ("Table 'TEMP_START_SHEET_SORT_TABLE_002' does not exist") could occur under rare circumstances when re-ordering players in a start sheet.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82115) - Unexpected error 91 ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object") could occur under rare circumstances when restoring a database backup file.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82116) - Unexpected error -2147221503 ("Invalid use of Null (Query -421, Column 'POSN')") could occur when viewing competition results report (overall results of 36 hole competition).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82117) - "Error 3013; RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally" may have occurred when trying to restore from an automatic backup. (Network Edition only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82118) - After running HandicapMaster for the first time and selecting Network Edition in the Setup Interview wizard, then entering SQL Database details, error "File does not exist or user has insufficient access" would occur.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82119) - After running HandicapMaster for the first time, selecting Network Edition in the Setup Interview wizard and successfully connecting to an already-registered database, HandicapMaster would switch to unregistered, in error.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82120) - Away Scores list; The list of away scores (in 'Handicapping' place) was incorrectly showing a Nett Differential for non-qualifying scores (CONGU and Society editions).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82121) - Unhandled Exception "System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted" had been reported to appear on a rare and random basis when starting HandicapMaster or when saving some reports.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82122) - Start Sheets; When importing bookings for a competition with a two tee start onto a Start Sheet, the wrong tee times could be displayed alongside the wrong groups, if additional tee times had been added since the booking arrangements were first created for that competition (Premier and Network editions).
  • FIX - A number of smaller fixes applied to improve software stability.

HandicapMaster 8.2.14 (Update Package 614) (12 April 2012)

  • AMEND - CONGU Handicapping; When calculating a Competition Scratch Score using Table B (small fields with no scores in buffer zone or better) the description of 'Best Score to Buffer Zone' is now shown as a positive number for improved clarification (CONGU editions only).
  • AMEND - Apply Scores; Six additional disqualification reasons are added.
  • AMEND - Golf courses; Two additional entries for "Intercollegiate Tour" added to list of England clubs, to match the EGU CDH, along with entry for "Mauritius Golf Federation".
  • AMEND - Publish to SGU/GUW CDH; When publishing to the SGU or GUW CDH services, the progress on the screen now confirms when sending of the list of players without an ID is underway (CONGU Editions, Scotland and Wales only).
  • AMEND - Competition Fee Balance checking; When using callback 57 to check a player has sufficient funds to enter a competition, results from the check are now written to the 'Callback Log' report.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82086) - When running HandicapMaster version 8.2 for the first time after upgrade, unexpected error 5 ("The field is too small to accept the amount of data you attempted to add") could occur.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82087) - Knock-out Competitions; Selecting Change Draw for an existing KO competition resulted in multiple 'No Record Found' and 'Details of the Golf Course are not known' errors (EGA Editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82088) - Unexpected error -124520301 ("The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user") occurred when starting HandicapMaster with an invalid registration code (Network edition (hosted) only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82089) - Unexpected error 5 ("The RPC server is unavailable" or “No printers are installed.”) occurred when trying to print from HandicapMaster and the Windows Print Spooler service was not running.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82090) - Start sheets; when adding entrants those with a non-competition handicap do not have handicap information displayed alongside their name in the list (Scotland only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82091) - CONGU Clause 19 Adjustments; The wrong clause 19 handicapping adjustments could be calculated for some players in a mixed qualifying competition when an adjustment has been made to competition handicaps between genders in line with CONGU Appendix O (CONGU editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82092) - Software Updater; When a different (administrator) user account was used to apply the program updates, HandicapMaster would be restarted as this different user, in error.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82093) - When starting a Network Edition database if the database server could not be found (Error 6 'Specified SQL server not found') it was not possible to edit the server details.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82094) - When starting a Network Edition database if the database server does not exist or access denied (Error 17) and the database details were edited then if there are other databases those were listed as 'UNKNOWN'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82095) - Unexpected error 5 ("Column 'score_for_handicapping' does not belong to table MyDataset") occurred when entering scores in HandicapMaster when computer locale settings are set to Turkish.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82096) - Unexpected error 5 ("Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server; Invalid object name 'TEMP_PAY_RECORD_002'.") may have occurred when recording payments. (Subscriptions option only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82097) - Automatic Adjustment of Age Groups did not operate in some cases, where the date of adjustment was changed to an earlier date than initially selected.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82098) - Backing up Database to removable media. When data could not be written to the removable media e.g. the media was write protected, the warning message displayed was blank.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82099) - Unexpected error 91 ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object") could occur when reconfiguring bookings arrangements and bookings were being operated in conjunction with Master Scoreboard web site (Premier and Network editions).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82100) - KO Draw; Option to order players by 'General Numerical Draw' was not available when 64 entrants were included in the draw, in error.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82101) - Unexpected error 5 ("Value of '-1' is not valid for 'Maximum'. 'Maximum' must be greater than or equal to 0") may have occurred under rare circumstances when importing bookings from BRS tee bookings.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82102) - Unexpected error 57 ("The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process") occurred when starting HandicapMaster with the registered organisation name including accented characters.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82103) - "Unexpected error occurred in module. 'clsHM_Memb_GroupContacts.vb:PutData' Error was -535037517 'Application-defined or object-defined error'" occurred when trying to add a new Membership Group with the name of an existing Membership Group, and there was a member as the point of contact. (Subscriptions option only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82104) - Online Backup Service; Error "Upload: Failed the data was corrupted during the transfer, the backup has NOT been saved" occurred in rare circumstances in some non-western locales.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82105) - Golf Course Details; It was not possible to save Course Rating (CR) values where the decimal separator is not a decimal point. (EGA Editions only and only in regions where decimal separator is not decimal point).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82106) - Competition Results Report; Description of count back scores incorrectly referred to 'strokes taken' for Stableford and Par competitions.

HandicapMaster 8.2.13 (Update Package 613) (20 March 2012)

  • NEW - Player Entry; Option to request a confirmation of optional competition fee selection from players signing in before play is added (Premier and Network editions).
  • AMEND - Accented characters may now be used in database instance names and/or locations.
  • AMEND - Analysis of Scores Entered report when printed now includes in the report title a count of the cards entered.
  • AMEND - Bookings cancellation messages in Player Entry now include the name of the player(s).
  • AMEND - Golf Courses; Added "Bolton (Assn)", "The South Buckinghamshire", "English Schools (Assn)" and "North West J G T" to England list. Added "Ladies Panmure", "Murrayshall Ladies", "Brucefield Ladies" and "Scottish Ladies' Golfing Association" to Scotland list. Amended entries for "Ivinghoe" (England list) and "Dunbracken Ladies" (Scotland list).
  • AMEND - When checking for updates on startup the connection timeout has been doubled to prevent issues with slow internet connections.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82070) - Reports 'Inactive Handicaps' did not display any inactive players even when players were inactive (EGA editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82071) - Edit Member; Player's 'Non-Competition' handicaps were being described as 'Lapsed' in error (CONGU Editions, Scotland only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82072) - Unexpected error 55 "The process cannot access the file 'C:\....\National Data\Connect.log' because it is being used by another process, may have occurred under rare circumstances when trying to restore a database backup.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82073) - Address labels; for the Avery J8654/L7654, J8160 and L7163 the right hand columns of addresses was very close to the left edge of the labels. (Premier and Network Editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82074) - Unexpected Error 5 ("You have an error in your SQL syntax…") could occur when attempting to change the System Home Club (Network edition, hosted database only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82075) - Unexpected Error 5 "InvalidArgument=Value of 'nn' is not valid for 'index'." could occur when Cancel was clicked while visitor handicaps are being updated from the CDH (England, Scotland and Wales only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82076) - When entering scores in HandicapMaster administration screen, the position in the list of players for whom scores may be entered was not remembered.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82077) - Player Entry; Some "Par/Bogey" competitions were shown on the leader board with words "Up" and "Down" reversed in players scores.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82078) - Letters; When including the PIN Number in a letter, leading zeros were omitted from the PIN number.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82079) - Find player on CDH; The "Add player to database" option failed to do this when using the "Find a player on CDH" facility (CONGU editions, England, Scotland and Wales, only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82080) - Unexpected error 5 ("Column 'Version' does not belong to table MyDataset.") occurred when starting HandicapMaster when computer locale settings are set to Turkish.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82081) - When changing a member with a handicap to a member without a handicap, the new member record created did not in some circumstances have the account balance set to zero. (Subscriptions option only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82082) - Edit Member; Message "The CONGU Handicaps of Away players are held as whole numbers, therefore this handicap will be recorded as …" was displayed for Away players after handicap had been updated through a CDH or 9 hole Qualifier (CONGU editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82083) - Letter Writer; The '<Future Competitions>' field was displayed in error in a letter, when it had been included but there were no future competitions configured.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82084) - Book a future Competition; Problems occurred after setting up bookings for a new competition if the bookings template was for 3 players per tee time, the competition required 4 players per tee time and the option to amend the bookings template was declined (Premier and Network editions).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82085) - Competition Templates; Unexpected error 5 ("Incorrect syntax near 'INDEX'") occurred restoring hidden templates (Network edition only).

HandicapMaster 8.2.12 (Update Package 612) (6 March 2012)

  • FIX - (Ref. 82069) - Program update 8.2.11; Unexpected error -2147221501 ("Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted") can occur running build 8.2.11 (CONGU Editions, Scotland only).

HandicapMaster 8.2.11 (Update Package 611) (28 February 2012)

  • NEW - CDH; A new option to find a player on the CDH by name (without knowing their Lifetime ID) is added (CONGU editions, England, Scotland and Wales only).
  • AMEND - Competition Template Wizard; a horizontal scrollbar has been added to the 'Details' box on the Finish page to allow better viewing of the details.
  • AMEND - CONGU Handicap Statuses (Scotland) – The lapsed ("Starred") handicap status for CONGU handicaps in Scotland was ceased at the end of 2011 in favour of "Competition" and "Non-Competition" handicap status. It was previously understood that these would be similar to "Competition" and "Non-Competition" handicap statuses being introduced in Wales (a relabeling of "Active" and "Inactive" handicaps). Following recent clarification from CONGU, the "Competition" and "Non-Competition" statuses in Scotland will not mirror the welsh equivalents, but instead be similar to previous "starred" and "non-starred" handicaps. Various changes are made to HandicapMaster to accommodate this. HandicapMaster may be subject to further change when more detail is published by the Scottish Golf Union or Scottish Ladies Golf Association.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses; Added "Bradford & District (Assn)" to England list. Renamed "Oaks Sports Centre, Carsholton" to "Oaks Sports Centre" and "St.Thomas's Priory" to "St.Thomas's Priory & Hawkesyard Hall" in England list. Deleted "Halstock" from England list.
  • AMEND - Improved the selection of a number of text items when selecting for editing.
  • AMEND - Online updates; Improved to cope with slow internet connections. Better handling of data transmission errors to prevent partial updates.
  • AMEND - Subscriptions option; when reprinting a range of subscriptions it is now possible to limit the reprint to members who do not receive subscriptions by e-mail.
  • AMEND - Terminology for Handicap Status amended from 'Active/Inactive' to 'Competition/Non-Competition' in Competition Template wizard, Add New Visitor, Enter Scores Player list and Analyse Scores Entered list to reflect local variations (CONGU editions, Scotland and Wales only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82053) - Load membership Records; Unexpected error 5 ("Access to the path is denied") could occur loading membership records using 'LoadCSV' facility, when inappropriate security access provided to folder or files (Premier and Network editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82054) - Subscriptions Option; When raising subscriptions with a custom letter, instead of the default invoice format, then the club picture or logo was not included even when the appropriate option to include it was selected.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82055) - Unexpected error 5 ("Value of '100' is not valid for 'Value'. 'Value' should be between 'minimum' and 'maximum'."). Occurred when importing bookings from BRS tee bookings, and there were less than 100 booking slots.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82056) - Add Visitor; When looking up a visitor from the CDH, the player's last name, first name and initials were not saved. (England, Scotland and Wales only)
  • FIX - (Ref. 82057) - Unexpected error 13 ("Conversion from string xxxx to type 'Decimal' is not valid.") when trying to enter a handicap with handicap status string for a new member record created when an away member becomes a home club member, where handicap status indicated by "i" or "c".
  • FIX - (Ref. 82058) - EGA Handicapping; A Computed Buffer Adjustment was being calculated for a competition, when there were less than 10 players with active handicaps in categories 1 to 4, in error (EGA Editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82059) - Publish to CDH; When checking handicaps of Away members, the wrong handicap for players could be recorded (CONGU editions, England, Scotland and Wales only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82060) - Competition Fees; Some competition fee settings could change when the competition template was edited, in error.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82061) - Under some circumstances when a screen resolution change had been made, the position of some HandicapMaster windows may have been located off screen.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82062) - EGA Handicapping; In some circumstances, HandicapMaster was recalculating past handicap records using 2012 regulations for records before the new regulations came into force (EGA Editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82063) - EGA Handicap Record Report; When generating a report of a Handicap Record covering a limited period of time, the "Handicap Brought Forward" entry was listed in the wrong place in the report (EGA editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82064) - Publish to Master Scoreboard; In rare situations, typically when some Windows updates had not been applied to the computer, the publish wizard would fail with message 'Error: The underlying connection was closed: A connection that was expected to be kept alive was closed by the server' without completing the upload to Master Scoreboard.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82065) - Competition Bookings report; When receiving bookings for team competitions into blocks of times and players were being asked to book into the competition in teams, the Competition Bookings report was failing to report the players in their team groups (Premier and Network editions).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82066) - Competition Bookings; It was possible to select the option to restrict cancellation of bookings to Master Scoreboard only, without selecting to allow cancellations at all, in error (Premier and Network editions).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82067) - Unexpected Error 91 ("Object reference not set to an instance of an object") could occur when cancelling a wizard launched from the menus with the initial Welcome message displayed.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82068) - Match-play KO Draw; When using Auto-Fill option to load a KO Draw from bookings received, some entrants could be missed if the bookings were received in conjunction with the Master Scoreboard service (Premier and Network editions).

HandicapMaster 8.2.10 (Update Package 610) (7 February 2012)

  • AMEND - Address Labels from Member Distribution lists have an improved layout and are better ordered. Performance of generating address labels from Clubs distribution list improved.
  • AMEND - Link to External Systems; Internal upgrade of callback 1 to use latest database interface code from Microsoft.
  • AMEND - Software Updater; Improvements made to better recognise when a file without version numbering requires updating.
  • AMEND - Callback 7; When exporting competition fees to external file, HandicapMaster will now report any error accessing the export file to screen.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses; Removed "Overseas" from Ireland GOLFnet list. Added "Sweetham Hills" and "West Rhine (Germany)" to England list. Renamed "St Helens Park" back to "St Helens", and "Stockley Park" to "Stockley Pines" in England list.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82035) - CONGU/Society Handicap Record Sheet; The line numbers in column one of the table were not in reverse sequence, as required.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82036) - Player Entry; After upgrading HandicapMaster from version 7.3 to 8.2, Player Entry reported "This Player Entry program no longer matches the main HandicapMaster program ..." and could not be run.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82037) - Unexpected error 6 ("Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow.") occurred when trying to use the HandicapMaster online backup service without a valid subscription to the service.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82038) - Large DPI displays; Multi-line tasks were not displayed correctly when the display was configured for large DPI.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82039) - Publish to CDH; In rare situations, the publish wizard was failing to connect to the CDH server, reporting "The remote server reported an error: (417) Expectation" (CONGU editions, England, Scotland and Wales only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82040) - Player Entry; Error 53 (Unable to load DLL 'Scardsyn') occurred when using Omnikey USB Card Reader on 64-bit Windows systems (CONGU editions, Ireland, only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82041) - Publish to CDH; Unexpected error 13 ("Conversion from string "..." to type 'Date' is not valid") could occur in rare circumstances when receiving away scores from the CDH (CONGU Editions, England, Scotland and Wales only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82042) - CONGU Handicapping; When running a mixed Stableford or Par competition with adjustment of handicaps for competition purposes (CONGU Appendix O), the adjusted handicaps were also being used as the basis for the handicap adjustments, in error.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82043) - Menu option 'Publish to BRS Online Tee Booking' was visible even when link to BRS was not configured (Network and Premier editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82044) - Player Record Import; Players’ Home Club would not be updated when importing records for players already in the database.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82045) - Visitor Lookup on CDH; When the handicap of a visitor record was updated using the "Look up Player Details..." button, the new handicap was not saved (CONGU editions, England, Scotland and Wales only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82046) - Check for program updates; HandicapMaster could stop responding when access to the HandicapMaster web site is blocked by a local web access security system, or other error.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82047) - Match-play Knockout Draw; When selecting players to add to the draw, after typing the initial letters of the player’s name, the highlighted name in the list did not match the player currently selected.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82048) - Match-play Knockout Draw; When creating a new draw or re-drawing an existing draw, some players selected would be left out of the draw if the cursor was not at the bottom of the list of names when proceeding through the wizard.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82049) - Player Entry; The 'My Account' option under the 'View Information' service was not displayed in Player Entry, even when configured in HandicapMaster.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82050) - Competition Bookings Report; When emailing this report, the auto-generated distribution list was empty of recipients when the competition was being booked in conjunction with Master Scoreboard (Premier and Network editions only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82051) - Bookings; When managing bookings for a competition in HandicapMaster the position in the list of bookings was not remembered when adding and editing bookings.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82052) - Competition Analysis of Scores Entered Report; Unexpected error in HMControlsDLL "InvalidArgument=Value of '-1' is not valid for 'index'." occurred when cancelling from showing report.

HandicapMaster 8.2.9 (Update Package 609) (24 January 2012)

  • AMEND - CONGU Handicap Status; For golf clubs in Wales, wording for player's handicap status is amended to "Competition/Non-Competition", in line with Welsh edition of CONGU Unified Handicapping System 2012 Manual.
  • AMEND - Golf Courses; Added "Musselburgh Links Ladies" to Scotland list of courses. Changed "Hatfield London" to "Essendon" and "Dunstable Downs" to "Dunstable" in the England list. Deleted "Bedwell Park" from the England list.
  • AMEND - SQLServerSetup utility now allows an SQL Instance name to be entered if no instances are automatically located on the computer (Network edition).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82027) - Unexpected error 13 ("Conversion from string '...' to type 'Date' is not valid") could occur upgrading to version 8.2 for the first time.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82028) - Unexpected error 5 ("Object must be a root directory ('C:\') or a drive letter ('C')") occurred when backing up the HandicapMaster Database to a UNC path.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82029) - Configure Player Entry; Screen colours representation in wizard was drawn out of shape when windows configured to use a high screen DPI setting.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82030) - Unexpected error 13 ("Conversion from string "...." to type 'Double' is not correct.") when checking for updates online within HandicapMaster, and the regional numeric decimal separator is not a decimal point.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82031) - Unexpected error 5 ("Row size too large") occurred starting Network edition for the first time after upgrade to 8.2 (Hosted Databases only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 82032) - Player Entry; The setting for a chosen USB Card Reader was not being retained when upgrading HandicapMaster to version 8.2 for the first time.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82033) - Integration; Unexpected error 5 ("Dynamic SQL generation for the UpdateCommand is not supported against a SelectCommand that does not return any key column information") occurred running option "Copy membership no's to account id's" on Integration LoadCSV options tab.
  • FIX - (Ref. 82034) - Player Entry; Wrong message was being displayed on screen when Handicap List option was selected and there were no players to list.
