Build 5.1.24 (1 Sep 2004)

  • AMEND - Away scores received from Ireland GOLFnet system using 'home score' CONGU identifier are now accepted as valid (where all other information is valid). (CLUB Edition, Ireland Region only).

  • AMEND - Description of Players scores in Par Competitions improved when displaying incoming GOLFnet Away Scores. (CLUB Edition, Ireland Region only).

  • FIX - (Ref. 50072) Member Status not returned to 'Social' if first handicap entry is undone. This occurs if the first handicap entry for the player was 'Handicap transferred from another Club'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50073) Handicaps may be miscalculated when Away Score received from Ireland GOLFnet system is processed. This can occur when the Away Score is from a Stroke-play competition. This defect is present in the following builds of HandicapMaster; 5.1.19 to 5.1.23 (inclusive), and 5.2.19 to 5.2.26 (inclusive) (CLUB Edition, Ireland Region only).



Build 5.1.23 (18 Aug 2004)

  • AMEND - CONGU Regional Settings for Ireland Ladies amended to allow entry of Clause 19.8 Adjustments for Away Scores (CLUB Edition, Ireland Region only).

  • AMEND - Away scores received from Ireland GOLFnet system are now displayed in descriptive text, rather than tabular format, for easier interpretation. (CLUB Edition, Ireland Region only).

  • FIX - Unexpected Error 13 (Type Mismatch) receiving GOLFnet Away scores. This occurs when a Stableford or vPar competition score is reported as 'NR'. This error occurs in module 'frmNatDatabase/IrelandReceiveProcessFile'. (CLUB Edition, Ireland Region only).



Build 5.1.22 (11 Aug 2004)

  • AMEND - Corrections to Category 1 Home player Handicaps no longer require a CONGU password if the correction is +0.1 (one correction per player per day only), as per CONGU Software Licence (CLUB Edition only)

  • FIX - Under some circumstances, a previously added Golf Course could be replaced in error by a new Course when adding a new course.



Build 5.1.21 (21 Jul 2004)

  • NEW - Clubs "Beechlawn" and "Doonbeg Links" are added to Database for reference with Ireland GOLFnet National System.

  • AMEND - Handicap Exchange Report no longer reports Clause 19.8 Adjustments in countries where Clause 19.8 adjustments do not apply to Away scores (Club Edition Only).

  • AMEND - Re-ordering of columns in Handicap Exchange Sheet for improved clarity (Club Edition Only).

  • FIX - Handicap Certificate incorrectly detailing Junior Club Handicap as a CONGU Handicap (Club Edition Only).



Build 5.1.19 (2 Jul 2004)

  • AMEND - Ireland GOLFnet Away Score processing (Club Edition only). The following changes have been made to processing Away scores received from GOLFnet:

    1. 'Unsafe' records are no longer reported in these circumstances (I.e. now totally ignored by HandicapMaster):
      • Records that do not relate to competition scores (such a 'Monthly Up-revision' and 'Correction').
      • Records that have a Player Membership (Card) Number ending in "0000".
    2. The following types of records are now accepted as 'safe':
      • Where the only missing information is the SSS of the course.
      • Where the Par of the course played is missing and the score is a 'No Return' in a Stableford or vPar competition.
    3. The following records are now considered 'unsafe' and are blocked:
      • Records with an Adjusted Gross Score below 55.
    4. Records that contain "IC" as the Gross Score no longer cause HandicapMaster to fail with an Unexpected Error 13 (Type Mismatch).


Build 5.1.18 (18 Jun 2004)

  • NEW - Option to Silently skip incoming 'unsafe' Away scores received from Ireland GOLFnet National System is added. See FILE menu, then OPTIONS, then NATIONAL SYSTEMS tab.

  • NEW - Four new Clubs are added to Database for reference with Ireland GOLFnet National System:

  • NEW - Add support for 'Overseas' scores being reported to Ireland GOLFnet National System.

Build 5.1.17 (1 Jun 2004)

  • FIX - (Ref. 50069) CONGU Handicap Record report can display wrong handicap on 'Handicap Brought Forward' entry at start of record. This can occur if the report is for a Lady Player and the report has been chosen to include only the most recent entries in the player's record. (CLUB edition only).

  • FIX - (Ref. 50070) Names missing in Competition Results. This can occur when the competition format matches all of

    1. Foursomes, Greensomes or Four Ball Best Ball format,
    2. Mixed (with both Men and Ladies present),
    3. Stableford or Par, and
    4. The Scratch Score for the course is different for Ladies and Men.
    Under this circumstance, some or all teams may be excluded from the results sheet. To correct an affected competition, UNDO and immediately re-APPLY COMPETITION SCORES.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50071) Unexpected Error 94 (Invalid Use of Null) running Scorecards from a Competition report. This error occurs in module 'modHMReports/Rep_RptCompetitionScorecards'.



Build 5.1.16 (21 May 2004)

  • FIX - (Ref. 50067) Unexpected Error 340 (Control Array element '5' doesn't exist) runing GOLFnet update (Club Edition, Ireland, Only). This error occurs in module 'frmNatDatabase/HighlightProgress'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50068) Handicaps may be miscalculated if a Mixed competition is processed and the competition is a handicap qualifier for one gender but not for the other (Club Edition only).



Build 5.1.15 (11 May 2004)

  • FIX - (Ref. 50062) Unexpected Error 401 (Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed) running Order of Merit. This error occurs in module 'modReport/CreateReport'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50064) Upload to GOLFnet national database may not extract data when prompted as part of exiting HandicapMaster. When this occurs, the 'GOLFnet Update' option under the FILE menu is also grayed out. Use FILE menu, then OPTIONS, then NATIONAL SYSTEMS tab and reset applicable options.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50065) Unexpected Error 3265 (Item not found in this collection) running HandicapMaster for the first time after updating from prior to 5.1.11. This error occurs in module 'VERSION/Database_to_5_01_11'.



Build 5.1.14 (28 Apr 2004)

  • AMEND - Where player's Competition Score is too long to fully display in the competition results report, the text is now reduced in size (Font Size is reduced) until the score description fits.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50054) Competition Result report in Press Release format does not recognise revised Competition Name if it has been amended after applying results.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50055) Wrong Icon used in Handicap Record Table when next item in player's history is a Pair's Competition.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50056) Wrong players identified as Division Winners when competition is played of less than full handicap.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50057) Club may be deleted from list of clubs even though it is referenced as the System Home Club.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50058) Wrong countback scores calculated for 9 and 12 hole Stroke-play competitions.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50059) Unexpected Error 401 (Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed) running Order of Merit. This error occurs in module modDatabase/CheckAllPointsAllocated.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50060) Unexpected Error 6 (Overflow) reading Ireland GOLFnet Smart Card in Gemself 700 MS-2 Terminal. This error occurs in module modGemcore/GemPlusGCR700_Read_SLE4442_Card.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50061) Inappropriate item "See Note (1)" displayed in Handicap Record, when no Notes avialable.



Build 5.1.13 (14 Apr 2004)
  • FIX - (Ref. 50053) Unexpected Error 3376 (Table 'MERIT_WORK_TABLE' does not exist) upgrading to version 5.1.12. This occurs in module 'version/Database_to_5_01_12b'


Build 5.1.12 (14 Apr 2004)

  • AMEND - Where player's name is too long to fully display in the competition results report, the text is now reduced in size (Font Size is reduced) until the full name fits. This replaces automatic shortening of the player's first name to an initial when the first name is more than 8 characters long (as previously used).

  • AMEND - Option to reprint General Play Change Letter added (Double-click any General Play change entry in a Handicap Record or Handicapping Events list).

  • AMEND - Internal change to ADD MEMBER and EDIT MEMBER windows to best accommodate situation where Windows is failing to provide a valid Currency character, for Subscriptions tab.

  • The following Amendments have been made to the CLUB EDITION only:

    • Message added on Start-up recommending the System Home Club is selected, when 'Default' is current setting.
    • CONGU password protection removed for General Play Changes/Corrections to Category 1 players where the player is an AWAY player.
    • CONGU password protection removed entering Handicap Notes for Category 1 players.
    • Export option now includes "*" alongside handicap in exported file where player holds a Starred Handicap (Scotland Region only).


  • FIX - (Ref. 50051) Unexpected Error 3265 (Item not found in this collection) using Clear All Data option. This occurs in module 'Version/Clear_Database'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50052) Unexpected Error 3078 (The Microsoft jet database engine cannot find the input table or query 'OOM_SETTINGS') selecting Order of Merit. This occurs in module 'clsSettings/Getdata'



Build 5.1.11 (5 Apr 2004)

  • AMEND - HandicapMaster may now be restricted to only process Men's, or only Ladies, Handicap records when connecting to the Ireland GOLFnet National Database server. See FILE menu, then OPTIONS, then NATIONAL SYSTEMS tab.

  • AMEND - Change Registration Code field structure in database to attempt to overcome "Error = 9, Description = 'Subscript out of range'" reading Registration code. This problem has been reported three times, but it has not been possible to recreate this in development.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50046) Additional Strokes in Mixed competitions are not applied when the competition is a team competition (Foursomes, Greensomes or Four Ball Best Ball).

  • FIX - (Ref. 50047) Unexpected Error 429 (ActiveX component can't create object) starting HandicapMaster. This occurs in module 'MODULE2/FontExists'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50048) Handicap calculation error with ladies handicaps (Club Edition only). Ladies Handicaps in the range 28.1 to 28.4 are mistakenly treated as Category 5 handicaps for the purpose of adjustment, resulting in the wrong adjustment when a Nett Differential below 0 is returned by the player.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50049) Unexpected Error 13 (Type Mismatch) running Online Update Check for HandicapMaster updates. This occurs in module 'frmOnlineUpdateCheck/CheckForUpdates'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50050) Unexpected Error 340 (Control array element '4' doesn't exist) sending Handicap Records to Ireland GOLFnet National Database (Club Edition only). This occurs in module 'frmNatDatabase/IrelandSend'.



Build 5.1.10 (29 Mar 2004)

  • AMEND - HandicapMaster now reports Windows ME and XP, as applicable, when an Unexepected Error occurs.

  • AMEND - Ireland GOLFnet National Database. An additional check is now made to ensure the same CDH Membership number is not used for more than one member. In the event that a Membership Number is duplicated, the following error message is now reported:
    "Duplicate GOLFnet Membership Number. Members 'Player A' and 'Player B' have the same CDH Membership Number (12345678). HandicapMaster is skipping 'Player A'. Please correct this mistake and re-upload to GOLFnet."
    This prevents the following error being reported by GOLFnet Administrators:
    "Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_handicap'"

  • FIX - (Ref. 50044) Unexpected Error 9 (Subscript out of Range) exiting from HandicapMaster. This occurs in module 'frmMainDT/Form_QueryUnload'.

  • FIX - (Ref. 50045) Players with a Disqualified score or a score of No Return can, inappropriately, achieve a 'Divisional Placing' (E.g. 'Division 2 Winner' description) in Competition Results report.



Build 5.1.9 (15 Mar 2004)
  • AMEND - Offer additional choices of saving Reports in PDF and HTML format to Disk when using 'Save this Report To Disk' task and Save Report button. Prevent previous reports saved using 'Save this Report To Disk' task being overwritten by subsequent reports.
  • AMEND - Reduce likelihood of Unexpected Error 13 (Type Mismatch) entering new handicap under General Play (module "GENPLAY/btnOK_Click)
  • FIX - (Ref. 50039) Unexpected Error 401 (Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed) running New Awards report. This occurs in modules 'RWRITER/Rep_RptNewAwards' and 'modHMReports/RptHandicapNotes'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50040) Unexpected Error 3201 (No Current Record) editing a membership record. This occurs in module 'Module1/Edit_a_Member'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50041) Singles Knock-out report does not include players' Middle Initials in their names.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50042) 'Body of Letter' control includes Horizontal scroll bar in error. This prevents text automatically scrolling to new line when displayed on the screen.


Build 5.1.8 (26 Feb 2004)
  • FIX - (Ref. 50032) New Web address for collecting 'Away' scores from Ireland GOLFnet National Database system.
    The administrators of the GOLFnet system have released new connection details for collecting Away scores. The current details for online collection from HandicapMaster are no longer valid. (Club Edition, Ireland region only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 50033) Unexpected Error 401 (Can't show non-modal form when modal form is displayed) running Eclectic competition report. This occurs in module 'RWRITER/Rep_RptEclectic'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50034) Unexpected Error 3021 (No Current Record) Undoing a General Play adjustment. This occurs in module 'modHMReports/Rep_RptLetterGenPlay'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50035) Unexpected Error 94 (Invalid use of Null) applying competition scores. This occurs when the competition is marked as a handicap qualifier and no Par values have been input for the golf course (Tees) used for the competition. This error occurs in module 'modCompetitions/ApplyComp_MoveToRecords'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50036) Handicap Certificate can break over two pages. A workaround is to run the Handicap List Report prior to generating a Certificate.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50037) Non-qualifying competitions show as zero in Handicap Records for Exact Handicap, Playing Handicap and SSS columns. Note: Please UNDO and immediate re-APPLY COMPETITION SCORES for any competitions affected.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50038) Handicap Awards show as zero handicap if previous 'Handicap Score' entry entered using HandicapMaster version 4 (under LGU handicapping system). (Club Edition only).
    Note: LGU Handicap Scores have been amended to show as Non-qualifier scores.


Build 5.1.7 (17 Feb 2004)
  • AMEND - Warning message added when A5 paper size selected for Handicap Certificate and current printer reports this paper size not available.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50026) Entrants are sorted into alphabetical order as they are chosen for a Match-play draw. This prevents a draw being created in a pre-determined order.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50027) Unable to restore a Lady's Handicap when it has previously been lapsed under LGU handicapping rules (Club Edition, Scotland region only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 50028) Cancel button incorrectly treated as zero handicap when restoring a starred handicap (Club Edition, Scotland region only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 50029) Unexpected error 94 (Invalid use of Null) deleting a letter.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50030) Unexpected error 3021 (No Current Record) running a letter report.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50031) Wrong Order of Merit points awarded. This occurs when:
    1. Order of Merit points are being awarded based on overall position in competitions,
    2. Points are being shared when players tie for the same position in the competition,
    3. The competition is either a Stableford or Par competition.


Build 5.1.6 (12 Feb 2004)
  • AMEND - Software Name (and Licence number in club edition) moved upwards on Handicap Certificate report to ensure compliance with CONGU software licence.
  • AMEND - Internal changes to programming for Online Version check have been made.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50021) Unexpected error 9 (Subscript out of range) Processing sixth round of Multi-round competition.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50022) Unexpected error (various) clicking OK on selection window when only entry listed reads 'No Records Found'.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50023) When processing a handicap qualifier off less than full handicap, played in divisions, HandicapMaster is incorrectly moving players into different divisions. This occurs between entering competition scores (as displayed on the Leader board) and when applying the competition scores (as shown in the Competition Results report).
  • FIX - (Ref. 50024) "c" prefix is mistakenly displayed on the Handicap List report (Society Edition Only)
  • FIX - (Ref. 50025) "c" prefix is missing from Junior Girl's Handicaps on the Handicap List report (Club Edition Only)


Build 5.1.5 (6 Feb 2004)
  • NEW - Option to generate Handicap Certificates using A5 Paper Size added.
  • AMEND - CONGU Unified Handicapping System Regional Settings for Ireland (men) updated following publication by Golfing Union of Ireland (Club Edition only, Ireland region only).

  • NEW - Option to change the name of a closed (applied) competition added. To change a name, select the competition in the Closed Competition list and right-click. Select 'Change Competition Name' from the pop-up menu.
  • AMEND - Description of Gemplus terminal has been amended to 'Gemself 700 MS-2' to reflect current product name of terminal.
  • AMEMD - Option to use Powersafe terminal for Player Score Entry removed from Club Edition.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50014) Last report saved using Save button on Reports Toolbar is overwritten with subsequent reports displayed on screen
  • FIX - (Ref. 50015) Player Handicap Record (table format) incorrectly shows competitions as played at 'Home Club' for Away players (and allocates wrong CONGU identifier). The Handicap Record report is not affected. (Club Edition only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 50016) CONGU Monthly Up Revision entry is not processed if Monthly Revision is first item in a player's Handicap record after software has been upgraded to version 5. (Club Edition, Ireland Region only).
  • FIX - (Ref. 50017) Table OOM_SETTINGS not found running Order of Merit.
  • FIX - (Ref. 50018) Gross and Nett Differentials reported incorrectly as 'NR' in Handicap Record when Adjusted Gross Score is available. (Club Edition only).

Build 5.1.1 (24 Jan 2004)

  • NEW - Option to Import or Export a Player's Membership Card Number added.

New in Build 5.1.0 (21 Jan 2004)

HandicapMaster version 5 features a new 'desktop':

  • 'Explorer-style' layout replaces previous 'Multiple-document Interface' (MDI) layout for a more familiar windows look and feel.
  • Simplified main toolbar designed around most common program tasks.
  • New 'Tasks' list allow quick access to regular tasks.
  • New 'Explorer' Tree list for access to more in-depth analysis of data, allowing users to drill-down to more detailed view of data, split out by nature of data.
  • Membership and Events lists now shown in 'right hand pane'. Insert and Delete keys now provide quick access to adding and deleting data as shown in the list. More information immediately available in the Events lists.
  • New 'Back' and 'Forward' buttons on main toolbar for quicker navigation back through items displayed in Right Hand pane.

Handicap Records:

  • New graphical and tabular displays of Player's handicap records. Tabular display is now 'active'; clicking over a competition listed in a player's record brings up the report of that competition result.

Reports:

  • 6 New reports added (Player Handicap Certificate, Playing Handicap Changes, Lowest Handicap Held during Previous Season, Players not played near Handicap, Most Improved Golfer,Visitors).

Competitions:

  • Now supports competitions run over 12 Holes.
  • 'Greensome Handicap' Allowance - Greensome Handicap allowance (lower handicap x 0.6 + higher handicap x 0.4) added.
  • Match Play Draw – Many improvements
  • New option to restrict scores shown on Leaderboard to 'good' scores only.
  • Improvements to Competition Score Entry when using Cherry Keypad.

Other:

  • Program Help has been upgraded to 'HTML-Help' format. Much of the program help file has been rewritten.
  • HandicapMaster start-up is now faster.
  • Letters window has been redesigned. Now supports standard Microsoft Cut, Copy and Paste options. Undo of last edit action added. Window now features its own Toolbar and menu.
  • New option to check for HandicapMaster updates online. See 'Check for Updates online' option on help menu.
  • New global option to choose length of PIN numbers added. PIN numbers may now be between 3 and 6 digits long.
  • Many other improvements.
