English Golf Union Central Database of Handicaps - EGU CDH
11th March 2009
Since the beginning of 2008, HandicapMaster Ltd has been a volunteer in the design and creation of the England "Central Database of Handicaps (CDH)" web service by the English Golf Union.
Details about the CDH were provided by the English Golf Union in a letter to their member clubs.
Successful Trial
Following a successful pilot service with 9 clubs running HandicapMaster the CDH is now available for all customers who use HandicapMaster for their Handicapping software in England.
Paul Keeling, Club Services Manager at the English Golf Union, said
"Following the successful trial by HandicapMaster clubs, we would ask all clubs running
HandicapMaster to now start using the service in earnest. We hope the service will
bring tangible benefits to our customers in running the Unified Handicapping System."
HandicapMaster is the first CONGU Handicap software to successfully pass the trials with the EGU CDH service.
HandicapMaster Ltd, would like to thank the pilot clubs for their help trialling the system. The first English club to use the CDH was Thornbury Golf Club, Gloucestershire, soon followed by Chadwell Springs Golf Club, Hertfordshire.
At the time of writing, the CDH is a service for men's golf in England. The English Women's Golf Association have expressed that they will be coming on board 'in the near future'.
